CAREER OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced estimator with a passion for accuracy and attention to detail.
This position will play a crucial role in the success of our commercial projects by providing accurate
and detailed cost estimates, ensuring that our projects are completed on-time and within budget. The
ideal candidate will be comfortable working in Excel, Word, Trimble AccuBid, Bluebeam and Procore.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits and project meetings as required, providing valuable insights and recommendations.

• Ability to fully comprehend front end documents - analyze blueprints, specifications, general conditions, project scope documents, schedule constraints and their impacts on the project bids.

• Develop comprehensive estimates for labor, materials, equipment and subcontracts for GMP and Lump Sum projects.

• Present cost estimates to management, clients and contractors, articulating assumptions, methodologies and potential risks involved.

• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure that cost estimates are accurate and comprehensive.

• Monitor construction progress and adjust cost estimates as necessary to account for change in scope or cost.

• Maintain and up to date understanding of the latest construction materials, pricing and trends.

• Ability to ensure quality and timely work output, prioritizing tasks and meeting assigned deadlines.

• Demonstrate experience and understanding of electrical layout, conduit installation, cable trays, duct banks and wire terminations.

• An understanding of value engineering.

• Ability to incorporate the National Electrical Code, building codes and OSHA requirements into estimates.

• Continuously identify new technologies that will improve safety, quality and/or performance of the Estimating Department and in the field.

• Expand the department’s capabilities and encourage innovative solutions to improve accuracy and efficiency in bidding or project executions (i.e. distribution of work, prefabrication strategies, etc.)

 

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience in electrical estimating (3-5 years preferred).

• Proficiency in estimation software.

• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

• Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• A strong work ethic and a “can do,” solution-oriented attitude.
